SA / NT NEWS BADGE DAY for 2011 This year, Badge day will be held on Friday the 18th November. State Dressage Championship Jenny recently competed in the State Dressage Championships held in Naracoorte with her horse, Sugar. They both enjoyed the experience and friendship of this Championships. Jenny and Sugar Scored 59% during the competition on Saturday and 64% during Sunday's competition, winning Ribbons during this event which culminated in Sugar winning the Championship Rug in their division. 32nd Lawn Bowls Nationals Congratulations to all the SA Lawn bowlers and their Directors who recently competed in the 32nd Lawn Bowls Nationals held at Rosehill Lawn Bowls Club, Sydney. The SA team bringing home 13 medals, 7 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze. Australia also competed in the Trans Tasman competition prior to the Nationals with Australia winning this Competition. 4th Australian Blind Tenpin Bowling Championships Over 30 bowlers from all over Australia competed in the recent 4th Australian Blind Tenpin Bowling Championships, held at Bowland Ingle Farm. South Australia only had 2 Bowlers competing this year, Des Warner and Susan Earles, but both winning Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals during the event.. Northern Athletics club We are currently funding a trainer for the northern Athletics club, to assist 10 -15 blind and vision impaired persons in gym andathletics training, this is an on going event and is held at the RSB Gilles Plains gym on Saturday mornings. Promotional DVD of Sport for Blind or Vision Impaired The Office for Recreation and Sport has financed the provision of a unique DVD that has been produced by the Blind Sporting Council. The purpose of the DVD is to promote community awareness of the ability for blindand vision impaired people of all ages to participate in active sports and achieve outstanding results and also to increase the awareness and encourage those persons not currently involved to become actively involved in a sport or recreation activity. We would like to thank the Office for Recreation and Sport for financing the production of the DVD and helping to making possible. If you would like a copy of the DVD please contact our office and we will be happy to forward a copy to you. WA NEWS Fundraising commenced in Western Australia in 2006 Badge Day for 2011 This year, Badge day will be held on Friday the 25th November. 4th Australian Blind Tenpin Bowling Championships A large team from Western Australia, travelled to Bowland Ingle Farm, in Adelaide recently to compete in the 4th Australian Blind Tenpin Bowling Championships, with all bowling exceptionally well, bringing home Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals. Congratulations to Justin Bettes, Susan Gillingham, Thanh Tu, Ryan Underwood and Kathryn Morrison on being chosen in the Australian Team, Travelling to Kuala Lumper in October to compete in this very exciting event.

QLD NEWS Fundraising Commenced in Queensland - 1st July 2010 The Blind Sporting Council has commenced fundraising activities in Queensland and encourages eligable people and organisations to enquire about future grant funding. 4th Australian Blind Tenpin Bowling Championships Rhian recently travelled to Bowland Ingle Farm, in Adelaide to compete in the 4th Australian Blind Tenpin Bowling Championships. Rhian Bowled well and enjoyed catching up with other blind and vision impaired tenpin bowlers from all over Australia. Rhian bringing home Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Congratulations to Rhian Patching on being chosen in the Australian Team, Travelling to Kuala Lumper in October to compete in his chosen sport
