Support our Cash Collectors

Our Cash Collections Team are out and about every week at various Shopping Centre's and Supermarkets.  You will recognize them from their blue logo uniform and they will be wearing a photo I.D, so that you will know that they are genuine collectors for the Blind Sporting Council.  Check out their photos below.

Your generous donation to them helps our blind and vision impaired to achieve their Sporting Dreams.

Leave a bequest.

Success begins with access and this is why the Blind Sporting Council exists - to give blind and vision impaired people a chance to enjoy participation in recreation and sport. It also enables those with the skills and passion to become elite sports men and women.

Thank you for considering the Blind Sporting Council in your will. Our work is only possible because of the support of people like you.

To include the Blind Sporting Council in your Will is to leave a gift to assist our athletes who are blind or vision impaired to achieve their sporting dreams.  When making or amending your Will, please remember the Blind Sporting Council and how it will make a positive difference to someone's life beyond your lifetime.

Your will is an essential legal document  to save your loved ones from unnecessary stress of dealing with your estate - the way you wish your property to be smoothly and properly distributed after your death. Your will can enable you to continue helping people beyond your lifetime through a legacy to the Blind Sporting Council.

The wording is very important as it states precisely what you want to happen.  It is strongly recommended that your Solicitor or Trustee Company assists you to prepare your will.

A simple guide to securing your financial decisions and making your will is as follows:

Step 1

Make a list of your assets and their approximate value.

Step 2

Determine beneficiaries and what you would like to distribute to these individuals or organisations.

Step 3

Choose an executor for your personal financial affairs (Power of Attorney), an individual, individuals or an organisation.

Step 4

Meet with a solicitor or Trustee Company to draft the wording of your will to reflect your wishes and Power of Attorney to make financial decisions for you as needed;

Step 5

Review your will from time to time to ensure changing circumstances are considered in your will.

Step 6

Ensure that updates to your will are legally amended.

A bequest can take the following forms:

·         Specific Bequest - a specific  type of gift, cash amount, property, life insurance or shares stated in your will;

·         Residual Bequest - the residue of your estate after your family members,  all other legacies, debts, taxes and expenses have been met;

·         Percentage or Fractional Bequest - expressed as a percentage or fraction of your estate;

·         Conditional Bequest - if your beneficiary dies before you, you may direct your estate to go to a specific charity such as the Blind Sporting Council;

·         Codicil - an addition to your existing will.

Please tell us when you have included a bequest to the Blind Sporting Council in your Will.  All information will be treated confidentially. We would appreciate the opportunity to thank you in advance rather than thank your Executor.
